Pupil Deprivation Grant

The Pupil Deprivation Grant (PDG) is allocated to schools with pupils who come from low-income families and are 

currently known to be eligible for free school meals (FSM).

Borras Park Community Primary School received a grant of £22,166 for the financial year 2016-17. This money is being used to employ additional staff to provide extra help to pupils eligible for Free School Meals and pupils who have Additional Learning Needs or other Barriers to Learning.

The funding has been allocated as follows:

  • An experienced Teacher to facilitate smaller classes in Year 2 during the morning session to deliver literacy and numeracy (£18,171) 
  • A TA to provide additional support for identified pupils – literacy and numeracy support for year 4 pupils. (£3276)  
  • 2 x TAs to support pupils in KS2 to help with reading  (£2550)
  • A TA to support pupils in the Foundation Phase (Years 1&2) to deliver literacy and numeracy in small groups (£3,292)
  • Total expenditure (£27,289) The remaining cost will be met by school
