PTA
Borras Park Community Primary School has a strongly supportive Parent Teacher Association. Each September a committee is elected at an open meeting. The P.T.A. is constantly looking for new members – please help if you can.
The committee promotes social events for families and events for pupils.
Any correspondence for committee members of the P.T.A. may be addressed to them via the school.
The P.T.A. fundraises for 'extras' in school and organises regular discos for pupils and Summer Fayre in June or July, with indoor and outdoor events for parents and children. Some of the activities we have organised include non uniform days, Christmas and Summer Fayres, and our Easter Bingo. We are very grateful to all who support the school, no matter how little time you can spare, come along, have some fun and meet other parents.
Through such events we have raised thousands of pounds in the last few years.
These funds have enabled the school to provide extra valuable resources for the children to use and benefit from.
How can you help?
The success of the PTA depends entirely on the support of all parents, staff and the community. We greatly appreciate any assistance. This can be anything from a little time spent helping out in the background, to coming along to the functions with friends and family or by joining the "PTA" committee.
Share your fund raising ideas with us, we are always open to new ideas and welcome any suggestions. Donations also play a very big role in our fundraising efforts. We are not just talking about the very important bottle donations on non-uniform days which keep the bottle tombola stalls busy, but prize donations for raffles and competitions, as well as time for wrapping various secret presents.
Maybe you work for a company who discards goods when they can’t be sold or would negotiate a great price for items we can sell or put in our lucky dips? Maybe your company would be prepared to match fund our efforts? Maybe you have fresh ideas to bring to our meetings?
If you have any good ideas regarding ways in which we can raise money or if you would like to help out in any way, please come along to our informal meetings. All proceeds go directly to the children and enhance the provision already provided.
The school is indebted to the work of the PTA and all the parents who support our school. We would like to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you for such fantastic support!
